Watermelon Madness - there is, there are

A1 & A2 listening lessons feature easy vocabulary, basic grammar, and slow speech with short pauses.

🍉 watermelon – A big, green fruit with red inside and black seeds.
Example: Pip finds a very big watermelon in the sunny place.

💪 heavy – Hard to lift because it weighs a lot.
Example: Pip tries to pick it up, but it is too heavy!

🌀 roll – To move by turning over and over.
Example: The watermelons roll down the hill very fast.

⛰️ hill – A high area of land that goes up and down.
Example: Many watermelons roll down the hill.

🌿 grass – Green plants that cover the ground.
Example: There are watermelons in the grass and on the path.

🌳 near the trees – Close to the trees, not far.
Example: Some watermelons are near the trees.

📏 space – An open area or room for something.
Example: There isn’t much space left on the ground!

🧈 slice – A thin, cut piece of food.
Example: Pip eats a big, juicy slice of watermelon.

🟤 seed – A small part inside fruit that can grow into a plant.
Example: There are many black seeds inside the watermelon.

😋 juicy – Full of juice; tasty and wet.
Example: He eats a juicy slice of sweet watermelon.

Watermelon Madness!

In a sunny place, there is a happy monkey named Pip. He loves to eat fruit! One day, he finds a very big watermelon. It is round and green. There is a smile on Pip’s face.

Pip tries to pick up the watermelon, but it is too heavy! He rolls it. Then, suddenly, there are more watermelons! Many watermelons roll down a hill. They go very fast!

Now, there is a lot of fruit everywhere! There are watermelons in the grass, in the path, and near the trees. There isn’t much space left! Is there a small watermelon? Yes, there are small watermelons and big ones!

The watermelons bounce and roll. Pip laughs. Are there seeds? Yes, there are many black seeds inside the fruit! It is watermelon madness! Pip finally gets to eat a big, juicy slice. There is a lot of sweet fun!
