Carl Fredricksen is an old man. He lives in a small house. His house is full of happy memories. Carl has a dream: he wants to go to Paradise Falls in South America.
One day, Carl puts many, many balloons on his house. The house flies! It is a big adventure! A little boy, Russell, is also on the house. Russell is a wilderness explorer. He is a nice boy.
In South America, Carl and Russell meet new friends. They meet Kevin, a big, colorful bird. They also meet Dug, a dog who can talk! Dug is a very loyal friend.
But there is a bad man. His name is Charles Muntz. He wants to catch Kevin. Carl and his new friends must protect Kevin. They fight Mr. Muntz. It is dangerous!
Carl and his friends are very brave. They save Kevin. Carl learns that adventure is important, but friends and family are more important. His house is a special place, but his new life is also special.
