Our Amazing Human Body

The human body is very complex and wonderful! It is like a big machine. There are ten major systems inside our body. These systems are responsible for the body’s functions.

Some systems create a strong base for our body. The skeletal system is a framework of bones. It helps us stand up tall. An adult has 206 bones! The muscular system helps us move. It has three types of muscles. We use muscles to walk, run, and even smile!

Other systems help with transport and control. The circulatory system includes the heart and blood vessels. The heart pumps blood to all parts of our body. The nervous system helps us think and feel. It includes the brain and sends messages very fast.

We also have energy systems. The respiratory system helps us breathe and get air. The digestive system helps us get energy from food. It takes the food we eat and gives our body power. All these systems work together to keep us healthy and alive!
